Pressure

Pressure is the force applied perpendicularly to an object per unit area. Pressure can be measured in various ways and with various units. The S.I. unit is the Pascal (Pa) named after Blaise Pascal a 17th century scientist and philosopher. A Pascal can be described as Newtons per square metre (N/m2). This translates to a kilogram per metre second squared (kg/m.s2), as a Newton is one kilogram metre per second squared (kg.m/s2).
